I love that phrase – Make June the end of May – and it works on so many levels. It’s been a slogan of some in the UK general election campaign, which finished yesterday, the votes from which are now being counted.
It’s still very early days, and it’s the early hours of the morning in the UK (and about 8.15am here), but if the exit polls are to be believed, then the Conservatives will be short of a majority. The gamble that Theresa May took – to give increase her small majority to a sizeable one, and to shore up her Brexit ideas by having a popular mandate for them, looks like it might not have gone quite like she wanted.
I have two classes today during which I’m not sure what I’ll do, given the internet can be a bit iffy in the classrooms…. but perhaps I’ll talk about the election with them and see what they think. I am feeling a lot better than I did in 2015, however!
More to follow as things progress….
I thought you’d be pleased with the results. It will be interesting to see what happens next!
