Small talk

I did an activity this week with students, getting them to do small talk. They had to plan a party (each group planned a different part of it), and then pretend to be at the party as different guests and make small talk with each other. It worked reasonably well. This was from my three Senior 2 classes. These students are 16 and 17 years old.

(Note that the photos were taken on my phone and my camera work is not very good, hence some blurred pictures).

They got into the activity and discussed all sorts of things in their little groups. It’s nice to see activities work and students getting involved and engaged in small talk.
